During the recent trip to Shenzhen, we spend the weekend at Macau by taking a ferry from Shenzhen.

Macau is known as "The Las Vegas of the East" and is now the worlds number one gambling operation, surpassing Las Vegas in 2007. Macau currently has around 30 casinos, among the top five are The Sands, Wynn, Lisboa, the newly opened New Lisboa and also Venetian Casino Resort.

We took the opportunity to visit Venetian this time as we have missed it the last few trips as it was located out of town ie at the Cotai strip.




The Venetian Macau is a Renaissancce Venice - themed luxury hotel and casino resort in Macau. The Venetian Macau is modeled on its sister casino resort – The Venetian in Las Vegas – and is the largest single structure hotel building in Asia and the 3rd largest building in the world.

Another must go area in Macau is Largo do Senado, (Senado Square) which contains some of the most quintessentially Portuguese buildings in the city, such as the Leal Senado Building, the Holy House of Mercy and the impressive Ruins of St Paul's.

Ruins of St Paul's was once the biggest church in Asia. The church was destroyed by a fire in 1835 but its impressive facade and staircase still make it worth the clamber up the hill.

Shenzhen, we are back again !

Last week, we went to Shenzhen again in conjunction with daddy's business trip.

Besides visiting relatives, Shenzhen is actually a great place for shopping especially at Dongmen (东门步行街); Huaqiang (华强步行街) & etc.

Of course another thing we always enjoyed was the food, especially ramen (拉面）and steam boat (刷羊肉). Yummy, yummy !

During the trip, daddy managed to steal half a day to bring us travel round the world by jet plane there. :-)

The Window of the World (世界之窗) is a theme park located in the western part of Shenzhen. It has about 130 reproductions of some of the most famous tourist attractions in the world squeezed into 48 hectares.

This is Borobudur, Indonesia.

The Angkor Wat, Cambodia and The Taj Mahal, India.

We also went to Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社), Japan.

Niagara Falls between Canada & USA.

We then visited Europe...The Eiffel Tower and Fountains at Jardin Du France, France.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa and Church, Italy.

and last but not least, Pyramids & Sphinx of Giza, Egypt.
